South African President Cyril Ramaphosa urged South Sudan’s leaders to comply with the 2018 peace agreement as the country prepares for general elections scheduled for December. An African Union meeting also called for an immediate end to hostilities, respect for the permanent ceasefire, the release of people detained for political reasons and a time-bound roadmap for a peaceful, credible vote.
