Australia’s Taxation Office says more than a quarter of large companies paid little or no corporate tax in 2024-25. Microsoft’s datacentre business reported A$2.3bn in Australian revenue but no taxable income, while Singtel, JBS Global Meat Holdings and others also paid no tax. The agency noted that losses, deductions and offsets can provide legitimate explanations, but is scrutinising digital businesses and profit shifting.
