CultureRussia will reportedly stop funding films depicting serial killers or law-enforcement officials taking bribes
Two sources at major film studios told Kommersant that Russia will stop providing state funding to films and series depicting officials from the Interior Ministry, FSB, Investigative Committee, or prosecutors’ offices taking bribes or joining criminal schemes. The restrictions would also cover violent predators and serial killers. They are not being written into law for now, and may be applied mainly to feature films, with more flexibility for streaming series. A producers’ association source said it had received no official notice.
