World‘Whoever is hearing me, we need help’: how flight 1073 survived its 5,000-metre plunge

Flydubai flight FZ1073 from Dubai to Tel Aviv, carrying about 150 passengers, suffered an apparent cockpit assault before plunging from roughly 10,000 metres to 5,100 metres in under two minutes. The aircraft transmitted emergency and hijack signals, turned south and made an emergency landing in Saudi Arabia. The cockpit confrontation and injuries remain under investigation.
