SocietySweden must apologise for harm done to Sami people, says state-backed report

Sweden’s state-established Truth Commission for the Sami People has accused the country of failing its Indigenous population and urged the government to apologise for the “harm and injustice” inflicted on the Sami. It also called for a national redress and reconciliation process and an urgent special apology to elderly Sami people subjected to abuse in segregated boarding schools.
