Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said Moldovan authorities led by Maia Sandu created an unprecedented energy crisis in pursuit of what she called “European freedom and European values,” leaving the country unprepared for winter. She accused Chisinau of making unsubstantiated claims against Russia and promoting “drone hysteria” to divert attention from shortages. Gas prices had risen more than 40%, with another 30% increase scheduled, while heating tariffs in several cities had jumped 70%.
