TechGoogle reportedly tests paying publishers for AI search results

Google has launched a reported pilot that pays around 100 publishers based on how much their content contributes to AI Overviews, AI Mode in Search, and Gemini. One early participant earned more than $1 million in a year, while a newer participant received about $50,000 to $60,000. The program comes as publishers and regulators scrutinize AI search’s effect on web traffic.
