CultureSolovetsky Monastery restoration to preserve traces of British shelling
Restoration of the Solovetsky Monastery’s fortress walls will mark and preserve damage caused by British artillery during the 1854 Crimean War. The work is scheduled for completion in 2029, the 600th anniversary of the first monastic settlement on Solovki.
