TechTokyo court says AI copy of actor’s ‘lustrous’ voice violated his rights

Tokyo district court has ruled that human voices receive the same protection as publicity rights. Actor Kenjiro Tsuda sued a TikTok account for allegedly using AI-generated videos to copy his voice. The court said unauthorised use of a performer’s voice may infringe those rights, but rejected his removal request because the videos had already been deleted.
