EconomyAn EV sold every 100 seconds as Australian demand more than doubles

Australians bought a record 157,957 new electric vehicles in the first half of the year, up 117% from the same period last year—equivalent to one sale every 100 seconds. EVs made up one in four new vehicles, while petrol and diesel sales fell 14%. The Electric Vehicle Council attributed the rise to lower running costs and vehicle efficiency standards.
