CultureMoscow is about to ‘restore’ its landmark Shukhov radio tower by replacing almost all of its original steel

The Russian Television and Radio Broadcasting Network plans to dismantle almost the entire Shabolovka Tower this fall and replace it with a replica by 2028. Specialists say removing the original metal would amount to destroying Vladimir Shukhov’s work, because the tower’s historic material matters as much as its form.
