Russian state-owned companies spent 118 million rubles on landline phones from January through August 2026, more than three times the amount a year earlier, Vedomosti reported using government procurement data. Purchases rose 12.5% to 3,595. A telecommunications organization said internet restrictions in parts of Russia had significantly increased demand. Rostelecom’s Mikhail Oseyevsky said requests for home landlines had also surged.
