The Kremlin says it regards the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons as the foundation of the global non-proliferation regime and hopes Iran remains a responsible party. Iran’s parliament deputy speaker earlier said Tehran was considering withdrawal. Moscow also says Iranian partners maintain they are not pursuing nuclear weapons and remain committed to peaceful nuclear energy.
