Gold dropped 3.3 percent to $4,146.51 an ounce, its lowest level in more than seven weeks, as higher oil prices, a stronger dollar and Treasury yields intensified inflation concerns. Silver fell 4.7 percent to $61.27 an ounce. Higher interest rates are also reducing gold’s appeal compared with yield-bearing assets.
