WorldYemeni government announces general mobilization to fight Houthis
Yemen’s internationally recognized government has declared a nationwide mobilization against the rebel Ansar Allah, or Houthi, movement. Parliament approved a request from Presidential Leadership Council Chairman Rashad al-Alimi, citing the need to counter Houthi escalation, protect citizens and the republican system, and preserve state sovereignty. The measure took effect immediately and will remain until the reasons for it are resolved.
