TechCrypto scammers built a fake blockchain to steal over $2 million

Scammers created a counterfeit network posing as GIWA’s planned Ethereum Layer 2 mainnet and lured 1,333 wallets into depositing 767 ETH. They later changed the bridge code and drained 766 ETH in one transaction. DYORSWAP said it would compensate some smaller victims with 40% of their bridged amount.
