SocietyChina’s northernmost high-speed railway opens in Heilongjiang

China’s northernmost high-speed railway began operating Monday in Heilongjiang, reducing travel between Harbin and Yichun from roughly seven hours to 1 hour and 46 minutes. The 318-kilometer line has a designed speed of 250 kilometers per hour and nine stations, and is expected to support regional revitalization, tourism and ecological development.
