Another typhoon is nearing Japan’s southwestern Okinawa prefecture and moving northeast toward Honshu. Typhoon Surige is south of Okinawa, traveling at about 10 kph and possibly strengthening. Heavy rain is forecast in the Kanto region, including Tokyo. A previous typhoon killed 12 people on September 20.
