ScienceYa'an: A Model of Ecological Restoration

Opened in 2003, the Ya'an Bifengxia Base is now home to the world's largest captive giant panda population. Founded for panda breeding, rescue and rewilding, it has expanded into ecosystem restoration by reclaiming nearly 500 hectares of habitat and connecting three ecological corridors, offering a Chinese model for global biodiversity conservation.
