A 6.6-magnitude earthquake was recorded northeast of New Caledonia’s Loyalty Islands, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre said. The epicenter was 252 kilometers northeast of Noumea at a depth of 6 kilometers. No casualties or damage have been reported, and no tsunami threat was declared.
