A group of 14 Republican and Democratic senators has asked Donald Trump to rescind Vladimir Putin’s invitation to the G20 summit in Miami this December. In their letter, they said Putin bears sole responsibility for Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine and that his attendance could legitimize and normalize a government still attacking Ukrainian civilian targets. They argued isolation would give him more incentive to accept a ceasefire.
