Preliminary post-mortem examinations indicate that former Marineland belugas Peekachu, 23, and Rain, 20, were already ill when they arrived at Chicago’s Shedd Aquarium. They were among 30 belugas and four dolphins moved from Niagara Falls, Ont., to aquariums in the U.S. and Spain this summer.
