HealthTrump administration using AI to deny medical care for seniors in disastrous experiment

A Trump administration pilot launched in January uses artificial intelligence to approve or reject certain Medicare services without the prior authorization previously required. Providers have reported technical problems, long delays, puzzling denials and patients in pain. Documents released by the Electronic Frontier Foundation describe patients crying while awaiting care. The Government Accountability Office said officials failed to follow proper procedures, but the program is still expected to expand.
