Science‘Robust little’ vessel begins 22,000km Antarctic voyage for climate science

A seven-metre autonomous vessel powered by wind and sunlight has set out from Hobart on a roughly 22,000km journey around Antarctica. Over seven to nine months, it will measure carbon dioxide and other ocean and atmospheric conditions to help Australian scientists assess the Southern Ocean’s role as a carbon sink and how that may change.
