Dozens of delegates left the UN General Assembly hall as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu defended Israel’s military actions in Gaza and elsewhere, rejected genocide allegations and called his critics “moral cowards.” Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas warned that the Palestinian people’s existence was under threat and urged stronger international efforts to preserve the two-state solution. Hundreds protested outside the UN headquarters.
