EconomyArgentina’s poverty rate climbs to nearly one in three under Milei

Official figures show Argentina’s poverty rate reached 32.3% in the first half of 2026, up from 28.2% in the prior six months, as incomes failed to keep pace with rising prices. Extreme poverty rose from 6.3% to 7.5%, while 44.5% of children aged 14 and under were poor.
