Donald Trump met Xi Jinping at the White House on Sept. 24 for a three-hour private meeting covering the Ukraine war, trade, AI, the U.S. war in Iran and Taiwan. China said they also discussed the Middle East, Ukraine and the Korean Peninsula, but neither leader publicly detailed their exchange on Ukraine. Zelensky had urged Trump to use Xi’s influence on Putin to advance peace efforts.
