Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met Malian Foreign Minister Abdoulaye Diop at UN Headquarters during the high-level week of the 81st UN General Assembly session. The two sides reaffirmed plans to deepen political dialogue and coordinate at the UN, while discussing stronger trade, economic and investment ties. Moscow said it was ready to keep helping maintain peace and stability in Mali and the wider Sahara-Sahel region.
