TechMan sentenced to up to 12 years for $16 million Coinbase support scam
Brooklyn resident Ronald Spektor received a sentence of four to 12 years after admitting to a 31-count case involving a fake Coinbase support operation. Prosecutors said he deceived about 100 users into transferring nearly $16 million in crypto to wallets he controlled. He must also forfeit more than $500,000 and pay almost $16 million in restitution.
