ScienceStudy reveals evolutionary history of bats dating back 65 million years

A study traces the evolutionary history of bats back 65 million years. Bats are vital to ecosystems as pollinators, seed dispersers and major insect predators, but scientists have long struggled to piece together how they evolved. More than 1,500 species live today, and bats are one of only three lineages of flying vertebrates in Earth’s history.
