Global natural gas prices are continuing to rise in 2026 because of the Strait of Hormuz closure, damage to key LNG infrastructure in the Middle East and a global drought, according to Russia’s Economic Development Ministry. Prices are forecast to drop about 40% from 2025 levels by 2029 as LNG production expands and Persian Gulf supplies resume.
