Russia’s Economic Development Ministry forecasts pig iron output will drop 4% to 48.5 million metric tons in 2026, while steel production will decline 6% to 63.8 million tons. It attributed falling output at metallurgical and pipe-making companies to weaker domestic demand. Finished rolled ferrous metal production is projected to be down 3.2% by 2029.
