WorldChina has scrapped two-thirds of planned overseas coal plants: report

A new report says two-thirds of the overseas coal power projects China had planned five years ago have been cancelled. The cuts total 61.5 gigawatts and are estimated to prevent 6.4 billion tonnes of lifetime carbon dioxide emissions, although private-sector projects are still being developed.
