Chinese swimmer Peng Xuwei won the women’s 200-meter backstroke at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games in 2:05.77, setting a new Asian record. She said mental training had improved her control in competition and hoped the mark would encourage more Asian backstroke swimmers to improve together. Her goal remains the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
