HealthWoman’s brain worm infection confirmed after eggs grow tails in lab test

A rice farmer in the Philippines experienced about a minute of uncontrollable shaking on the right side of her body. An MRI found fluid-surrounded nodules in her left frontal lobe, which doctors suspected were worm eggs. A New England Journal of Medicine case report says the condition may be neuroschistosomiasis caused by a blood fluke.
