U.S. President Donald Trump said at the U.N. General Assembly that he would use tariff powers granted by a new Russia sanctions law if necessary to help end the Russia-Ukraine war. The law permits tariffs of up to 100% on the five biggest buyers of Russian oil and gas. Trump said Washington was working closely with Moscow and Kyiv and suggested a deal could come sooner than expected.
