TechJapan plans to examine humanoid robots for defense use, agency reports
Japan’s government plans to study using humanoid robots powered by “physical AI” for Self-Defense Forces logistics, including base security and cargo transport, Kyodo reports. Direct combat use is not under consideration because of legal and civilian-safety concerns, though future reconnaissance and rescue applications are being examined. Defense documents are due for revision at year-end.
