Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service said Brussels remains focused on taking the Bank of Russia’s assets frozen in the EU. It alleged that EU experts are discussing a new supranational entity to “hide” the funds after their removal from Euroclear, and said European officials fear the opportunity to seize them could close after upcoming elections.
