On the eve of his US state visit, Chinese President Xi Jinping replied to letters from students at 10 American universities who had visited China for youth exchange activities. He said Chinese and American youth share one planet and the mission of their time. More than 50,000 young Americans had visited China by May 2026, reaching Xi’s five-year exchange target two and a half years early.
