During China’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Indian doctor Dwarkanath Kotnis, known in China as Ke Dihua, provided important medical care to Chinese soldiers at the front. He believed victory was inevitable, but died in 1942 at age 32 after his health worsened under wartime conditions. More than eight decades later, China still remembers his legacy fondly.
