Politics‘Oh shit’: Labor councillor feared ICAC inquiry over 2021 Liberal fundraiser

New South Wales ICAC heard that former Labor councillor Sharangan Maheswaran feared his attendance at a 2021 Liberal fundraiser, and a photograph with then-premier Dominic Perrottet, could force him to give evidence. The inquiry is examining allegations that Liberal factional operatives received $2m in illegal donations from developer Jean Nassif in exchange for political outcomes. Perrottet is not accused of wrongdoing.
