SocietyGlobal World Cleanup Day observance opens in China for first time
The 2026 Global Observance of World Cleanup Day opened Sunday in Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province, the first time China has hosted the event. Organized by China’s Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, UN-Habitat and the Zhejiang government, it brought together about 800 representatives under the theme “From Clean Plates to Clean Cities.”
