The average US diesel price rose to a record $6.49 per gallon from $6.17 a week earlier, according to the American Automobile Association. A year ago, diesel cost $3.70 per gallon. The Wall Street Journal previously reported that Chevron’s head warned of a global fuel crisis amid the Middle East conflict.
