TechDisney appoints Character.AI’s former CEO as its first CTO

Disney has named Karandeep Anand as its first chief technology officer. The former Character.AI CEO will report to Disney CEO Josh D’Amaro and oversee infrastructure, product, engineering, and data and AI platform teams. His hiring follows Disney’s earlier copyright dispute with the chatbot startup and comes after its OpenAI partnership fell apart.
