CultureBeethoven and Andy Warhol: Two rebellious icons

The Beethoven House in Bonn is presenting “Beethoven by Warhol,” centered on Andy Warhol’s 1987 color silkscreen portrait of Ludwig van Beethoven. Rare drawings, print proofs and other works show how Warhol developed the image, which transforms Beethoven’s historical likeness through vivid Pop Art colors and a handwritten “Moonlight Sonata” score. The exhibition runs until April 2027.
