TechBlockchain malware activity jumps 440% as AI lowers barrier for North Korea- and Iran-linked hackers

Chainalysis says state-linked hackers tied to North Korea and Iran are increasingly hiding malware instructions and control information in public blockchains. Blockchain dead-drop activity rose from 2.06 to 11.1 writes per day after high-capacity open-weight Chinese AI models emerged, a 440% increase. The firm says its data identifies neither one model nor AI alone as the cause.
