EconomyChina’s arbitration disputes reach 1.44 trillion yuan in 2025

The amount in dispute in China’s arbitration cases reached 1.4393 trillion yuan in 2025, up 18.7% year on year and exceeding 1 trillion yuan for the third consecutive year. The country’s 285 arbitration institutions handled 956,000 cases. CIETAC accounted for 42% of the disputed value in foreign-related cases despite handling 16% of them.
