HealthIV drips marketed for “detox” contained toxins, poisoning dozens

More than 30 people in four states were poisoned by bacterial toxins after receiving glutathione IV drips at wellness clinics, the CDC and FDA said. Glutathione is promoted for detoxification, immune support, energy and skin brightening despite little evidence for such uses. Compounding pharmacies made the drips with powder graded for oral supplements rather than purified sterile-injection products.
