The International Mid-Autumn Lantern Carnival opened Thursday at Hong Kong’s Victoria Park. Its World Lantern Boulevard features lanterns from 20 countries and regions, with more than 3,000 displays. Nanjing Qinhuai lanterns are being shown in Hong Kong for the first time, and the carnival runs through Sept. 27 with performances and festive activities.
