WorldFormer Assad officer sentenced to 60 years in US for torture

Samir Ousman Alsheikh, a former Syrian military official who ran Adra Prison under Bashar al-Assad, was sentenced in Los Angeles to 60 years in US prison. A jury convicted him of conspiracy and three counts of torture after victims described beatings, suspension from ceiling pipes and a device that folded their bodies.
